High school is busy. That's a fact. So when you're trying to cram for a math test first period or trying to squeeze in enough sleep or simply trying not to be late (again), it may be hard to have a balanced diet–or even a diet/meal at all. My number one tip for morning breakfasts is to prepare it earlier in the week or the night before. I like having protein in the morning and, thus, prefer eggs. So, on Monday, I get some liquid egg whites and pour them in a jar with some chicken bouillon, garlic salt/powder, and shredded cheddar cheese. In the mornings, all I have to do is pour my seasoned egg in a bowl and microwave for a minute. For lunches, I usually make a sandwich the night before. I like wheat bread with guacamole, Swiss cheese, and spinach. Getting pre-made guac, sliced cheeses, and pre-washed/mini spinach makes sandwich-creating a lot easier.

Ok, so this isn't a totally original recipe, but here it is! I added some twists to make a plain brownie recipe original, so hope you enjoy. p.s. The recipe itself was okay (although somewhat dense) but the frosting recipe did not work out at all (at least for me). Four stars! ★★★★☆ I first followed the basic brownie recipe that is linked above ^ .
My tweak to the recipe adding semi-sweet chocolate morsels into the batter before baking. Since my frosting turned out really chunky and doughy, I added some heavy whipping cream (a few tablespoons). It was still pretty solid, so I used it as more of a crumble than a real frosting. For the rocky road part, I added marshmallows, the crumble, and toffee bits (I don't like nuts in my desserts). Overall, it was a very simple and easy recipe to follow, and the result is amazing. The only bad part about it is that it will be hard not to eat them all! This morning I decided to make an egg, but scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, and omletes were getting a little bit boring. So, I thought I would make my own recipe. Here's how it turned out. Hope you enjoy! You will need:
Start by whisking your eggs in a small bowl. I prefer to use a small rice bowl, as this makes a nice mold for the egg. Since it is a microwave egg, remember that the egg will take the shape of the container. Sprinkle a small handful of cheese (shredded works best) into the egg. Then, spinkle with garlic powder and garlic salt, as desired (about 1/8 tsp each). Cut a thin sliver of butter to make the egg more creamy. Finally, add in your diced vegetables. Stir so that spices are even throughout. Microwave for about 40 seconds to a minute. Meanwhile, toast a slice of your choice of bread. Once the bread is toasted, arrange spinach leaves on top. The egg should be cooked through by now. Keeping the egg whole, scoop it out of your bowl and place on top of the bed of spinach. Bon appetit! |
