Trying to focus?
What helps me best is if I get moving or change something up–simply trying to force yourself to focus will never cut it. Go run around the block, or do some yoga, or take a relaxing shower, and then start again with the mindset of completing the task at hand. Try making sure your workspace is clear, especially if you are studying, and studies show that working in the same spot consistently will make working in that spot come more naturally.
Need More closet space?
Hang up spaghetti strap tops on one hanger with twist ties. You can also hang scarves on a single hanger as well. I find this to be really helpful in finding the right top I need quickly, and it keeps the clothes looking less wrinkly than if they were thrown in a drawer.
Sleep Deprived?
Try to set a schedule–a physical, written one–that you can reference. So when you get home, allot, for example, one hour to relaxation, and a few hours to homework. Keep your phone and other distractions on silent and out of sight–and preferably out of reach. If needed, have a person to keep you in check, such as a parent or older sibling. Refrain from using electronics an hour before bedtime, and do some stretches before you tuck in to relax, regroup, and release tension in muscles. Go to bed at the same time each day, and wake up at the same time, in order to instill a habitual sleep cycle. For me, I like to use the app, Sleep Cycle, which wakes you up when you are in your lightest cycle of sleep. I know that especially for high school students, homework can keep you up late through the night. But, if possible, you will actually do better academically if you are getting about 9.5 hours of sleep each night.

I like to use toothpaste and an old toothbrush to scrub cotton shoes.
